Our Missions Philosophy

Faith Bible Church is committed to a church-based model of missions.  This means we see the local church playing a central role as the origin (in sending), the means (in doing), and the goal (the outcome) of missions. We have developed this model from what we see in the book of Acts as the Apostle Paul works in and through the local church to reach the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, the missions work we support focuses heavily on the planting and/or strengthening of local churches and their leaders. In doing so we have a working relationship with all our supported missionaries (see bios below).

For a helpful resource which explains our model of missions, we recommend the book Prioritizing the Church in Missions.

Meet our Missionaries

John & April McDuffee

Spain
John and April McDuffee have been serving in Spain for several decades. In his role as an elder in a local church in Vicalvaro (Madrid) John’s main focus has been strengthening the church with the view of planting churches in the surrounding area. Currently, they are conducting a BIble study at the site of a potential church plant and seek to train leaders with the hope of planting a church there. John and April are members of Faith Bible Church.

Dale and Karen Marshfield

India
After serving as a missionary in South Africa for nearly three decades, Dale and Karen have since made his home in the US while still focusing on international missions. After a time serving at ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism), Dale took over Tri-M (Mobile Modular Ministry) of India. The focus of Tri-M is the equipping of national leaders and pastors in theology and ministry through regional cohort training sessions over a period of several years. FBC not only supports Dale, but is currently financially sponsoring a cohort and has taught in several cohorts in India. Dale also serves as an elder in his home church in York, PA.

Shannon and Danielle Hurley

Uganda
The Hurleys has been serving in Uganda since 2006. As the director of SOS (Sufficiency of Scripture) Ministries, the goal is to provide theological education and ministry training for pastors throughout the entire country of Uganda and into Eastern Africa. In addition to being a pastor of a church in the town where SOS Ministries is headquartered, Shannan has established a medical clinic and started a school for up through high-school aged children. FBC has sent several groups to SOS ministries over the years for missions exposure and service. Read Shannon’s story here.

Ramazan and Karen Arkan

Turkey
A former muslim whose name means Ramadan (the holiest month on the Muslim calendar), Ramazan serves as a testimony to God’s amazing grace and power even among the most hostile of religions toward Christianity. Ramazan now serves as a pastor of a church in Antalya, Turkey, which functions as a training center for pastors in the city of Antaya. The goal is to plant churches in the various quadrants of Antalya in order to continue to reach this city and region with the gospel. Ramazan’s church holds evangelistic services for the public around the holidays of Christmas and Easter every year which are well attended, and he and his church have had several opportunities to serve the people of his nation during times of natural disaster.
